Job Description:
L3Harris is actively seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Northampton, MA. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative group of software engineers dedicated to developing software for US Navy and international programs, focusing on Periscope and Optronic Software Systems.
Essential Functions:
Utilize your knowledge in computer science, engineering, and mathematics to create robust software solutions for targeted applications. Work collaboratively with experienced engineers to understand and contribute to the interface between hardware and software, ensuring systems meet operational performance requirements. Participate actively in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, hands-on hardware/software integration, and testing of embedded software for real-time control systems. Assist in the development of software test procedures and programs, and contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation. Engage in peer reviews, learn to identify, track, and remedy defects to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
Preferred Skills:
Proficiency in one or more programming languages and technologies such as C++, C, Java, VHDL, SQL, Qt. Familiarity with lab equipment such as JTAG debugging, oscilloscope, and logic analyzers. Familiarity with operating systems and platforms including Windows, Linux, and an understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) from academic projects. An academic background that includes subjects related to real-time controls, software security, robotics, and embedded systems.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $74,000 - $138,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
