$80,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Tatum by Randstad A long-established, privately held company based in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing team. With a 50-year track record of success, this family-owned business operates across site construction, real estate development, home building, and self-storage. This is a confidential opportunity to take on a key accounting role within a financially stable organization known for its strong culture and hands-on leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, payroll expertise (including prevailing wage), and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi-entity environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead month-end close processes and assist with preparation of internal financial statements. Oversee and support weekly payroll processing for approximately 100 employees, including certified and prevailing wage requirements, as well as related tax filings. Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts, ensuring proper documentation for all transactions. Reconcile sub-ledgers and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy in reporting. Review contracts, purchase orders, and vouchers; generate supporting documentation for all financial activities. Assist in the review and preparation of Time & Material and AIA invoices. Identify and resolve inconsistencies in financial records, ensuring integrity in reports and documentation. Support collections and prepare account analyses as requested. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support ongoing efforts to strengthen internal controls. Assist with year-end closing and preparation for audits or external reviews. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll compliance Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively Experience in the construction or real estate industry is preferred For immediate consideration please send your resume to: cecilia.bjurstrom@tatum-us.com Seniority level
