Our client is seeking a
Facilities Maintenance Technician
for a
1st-shift, direct hire
opportunity at a well-established manufacturing site. This hands-on role is ideal for a technician who thrives on maintaining critical facility systems and takes pride in keeping operations running efficiently and safely. If you're experienced with
high-pressure steam boilers ,
water systems , and facility equipment - this role offers stability, growth, and an impactful day-to-day workload.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain and service facility infrastructure: boilers, chillers, compressors, water softeners, drainage systems, and related systems. Conduct and document preventive maintenance (PM); track planned vs. reactive work in maintenance software. Perform daily monitoring and upkeep of steam boilers, including water quality testing and equipment inspections. Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and adjust maintenance schedules accordingly. Work with outside vendors for outsourced services; oversee completion and quality of their work. Monitor and improve equipment efficiency, reliability, and energy performance. Troubleshoot and repair facility service requests (lighting, plumbing, safety signage, etc.). Maintain and test emergency power systems and fuel supply levels. Interpret and work from mechanical, piping, and electrical schematics. Record facility metrics including steam, water, and gas usage. Safely use a variety of hand tools, power tools, meters, and lifts. Operate within a GMP-compliant environment and adhere to safety and hygiene standards. Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or Technical Certification in Mechanics, Electrical, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Minimum
2 years of experience with high-pressure steam boilers
in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Valid
Boiler Operator Certificate or License . Strong mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret mechanical, piping, and electrical schematics. Familiarity with water quality standards and boiler water treatment techniques. Comfortable working with allergens in a manufacturing setting. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS). Welding capabilities. Knowledge of compressed air systems (Kaeser experience a plus). Experience operating Hilo trucks, scissor lifts, and boom lifts (or willingness to be certified). Proficiency with motor starters, VFDs, I/O switches, and control wiring. Experience in GMP or regulated manufacturing environments. Titles Encouraged to Apply:
