Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping duties; may include receiving duties. Uses computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting. Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules and requirements. Prepares materials for shipment; may receive incoming materials. (Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges and routes merchandise to destinations. May be asked to perform some basic Production Technician tasks, such as constructing developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components using standard electronic assembly tools and materials. Could also include performing modifications, rework and quality testing. Desired Skills
a. 4-5 years shipping both Domestic and Internationally b. FedEx ship Manager experience c. Familiarity with EEI (Electronic Export Information) d. Familiarity with ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) e. Any other specialized training in international shipping, licensing. f. Knowledgeable about 49 CFR and IATA g. Any other training in Hazardous Goods shipping. h. DOT Ground and Air DG certified by LION or accredited company i. Other Dangerous Goods Regulation certification j. Familiarity with SAP k. Experience in a production environment l. Production Technician skills. Other Important Information
