as an Engineering Manager. The Engineering Manager provides engineering supervision and leadership to meet project demands while maintaining a limited project load in accordance with overall backlog needs. The role involves working closely with the Engineering Director and overseeing engineers based out of the office, assisting in achieving department goals. Responsibilities
Recruit, select, train, coach, and discipline employees; communicate expectations; monitor and review job contributions; plan and review compensation; enforce policies and procedures. Contribute to strategic planning by providing engineering insights, preparing action plans, and implementing quality and productivity standards. Provide oversight and technical guidance to ensure proper engineering processes are followed throughout projects. Build and maintain relationships with senior engineering staff, managers, executives, and clients. Coordinate work across engineering offices and cross-train staff on multi-client standards to enhance efficiency. Collaborate with Business Development on proposals, estimates, and legal agreements. Present technical solutions confidently to clients and respond to technical inquiries. Plan and prioritize engineering requirements, including training schedules. Participate in client meetings and site visits for data collection and delivery. Support quotes and estimates related to engineering and project management. Review and approve timesheets and expenses; ensure project cost, quality, and schedule adherence. Conduct audits to ensure design packages meet QA/QC standards. Manage performance appraisals, goal setting, and internal training programs. Attend project kickoff meetings to discuss scope, specifications, budgets, schedules, and safety. Qualifications
Bachelors in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering; international degrees considered; Masters or MBA a plus. PE license required. Minimum 5 years of management experience. Experience with substation design, protection/control, or power system studies. Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills. Benefits & Compensation
