Civil Structural Engineer
The Civil Structural Engineer contributes to the team responsible for the development of Civil Engineering activities in support of the New Plants Engineering projects. The Civil Engineering will perform activities within a team environment, working with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to successfully deliver New Nuclear Plant Projects. Essential Responsibilities
Work within a team environment to execute work plans within budget and schedule. Support Civil Systems design and/or equipment construction activities, respond to vendor questions and deviation requests; review and approve vendor document submittals Have other duties as assigned by Manager and the Senior Engineers Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, licensing, the NRC and international regulatory authorities on technical issues Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents Support GVH quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating and Manage the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned systems using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other Engineering Discipline from an Accredited College or University. 5 or more years of Civil Engineering Analysis and Design Experience Eligibility Requirements
For the United States the preferred work location for this role is at the GE Vernova Nuclear Energy Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered. Willing to travel up to 25% domestic and international This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. For Canada this role requires working two days a week onsite in the Markham Ontario office. GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening. Master's Degree or greater in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or University Nuclear Industry knowledge/experience Strong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, BWR core/fuel material behavior, and mechanical or structural design fundamentals Strong communication and writing skills and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments Strong facilitation, team building, communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of project management Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and process skills Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity. Detail-oriented and accountable for results. Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment A self-starter willing to take initiative Strong consideration will be given to Indigenous persons. In this context, Indigenous people are First Nations, Mtis and/or Inuit. The base pay range for this position is $98,000 to $140,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday August 29th. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
