The essential function of the position within the organization is to maintain City facilities. The position is responsible for assigned tasks. The position works under general supervision according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks. Summary of Duties
Cleans inside and/or outside of City buildings, including sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets, cleaning surfaces and baseboards, polishing glass, furniture, and woodwork, and emptying and cleaning garbage receptacles.
Cleans and disinfects restrooms and fixtures; replenishes paper towels, toilet paper, and soap; unclogs toilets and replaces burned-out light bulbs as needed.
Performs maintenance and minor repairs on facilities, such as repairs and assembles furniture, reports repair needs outside scope of position to supervisor.
Maintains equipment of responsibility; assists with maintenance of inventory of supplies. Minimum Qualifications
Requires valid Tennessee Driver's License for personnel operating vehicles. Requires high school diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training. Requires one year of related experience. Supplemental Information
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands refers to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Requires light to medium work involving standing or walking most of the time, exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular basis.
