Amazon Web Services (AWS) Description As part of the global controls team, you will work with highly motivated experts and innovators in the data center industry. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, project management, and maintaining the building management system (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS). Using Amazon leadership principles, you will develop new processes and standards while innovating in the controls space. AWS Data centers include components such as generators, uninterruptable power sources, diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled), pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, air economizers, etc. These components have local control systems that interact via open and/or proprietary protocols. The BMS controls all mechanical systems, while the EPMS monitors electrical systems within a data center. Key job responsibilities Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of BMS and EPMS systems. Provide technical assistance and support during the data center lifecycle. Review quarterly maintenance results for BMS and EPMS and resolve issues. Develop project scope, schedule, budget, and effort estimates for BMS & EPMS projects. Manage scope, schedule, finance, and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects. Assist in procurement activities, including RFQs, vendor proposals, and purchase orders. Participate in AWS global on-call schedule for immediate support. Attend project meetings, coordinate with project leaders, and report status. Support commissioning activities for controls projects. Review, troubleshoot, and improve controls SOO; provide feedback to design team. Develop and modify controls logic programming and GUIs. Manage stakeholder requirements and navigate challenging situations. Manage BMS and EPMS service contracts financially. Visit data centers locally for troubleshooting, customer meetings, and supervising vendors.

Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) plus 10+ years relevant controls experience, or 15+ years controls experience without a degree. 10+ years working with industrial controls in critical environments such as data centers, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, power, etc. 9+ years project or vendor management experience related to construction and project execution.

Preferred Qualifications MS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls/Automation) Experience with HVAC Controls or Electrical SCADA systems. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (MQTT, BACnet, MODBUS). Understanding of engineering documentation and SOPs. Ability to manage multiple stakeholder requirements and challenging situations. Experience designing data centers or critical MEP infrastructure.
