Datadog's Finance team partners with stakeholders across the organization, providing commercial, operational, and analytical support to ensure that Datadog’s business continues its rapid and efficient growth.
As a Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing our U.S. corporate income tax function, ensuring compliance with tax laws while optimizing our tax strategy. You will be responsible for overseeing federal and state income tax compliance, tax accounting, research, and planning, helping to navigate the complexities of corporate taxation for a multinational organization.
This role requires a strong technical background in ASC 740 and U.S. GAAP, as you will be managing the income tax provision process, preparing tax disclosures, and ensuring compliance with evolving tax regulations. You will work closely with finance, accounting, and external tax advisors to ensure accurate reporting.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to strategic tax planning initiatives, helping to identify tax-saving opportunities, mitigate risks, and support key business decisions. With the ever-changing tax landscape, you will stay ahead of regulatory changes and provide guidance on their impact to the company.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive tax professional with experience managing federal and state income tax filings for multinational corporations. Familiarity with ERP and tax provision software is a plus, as we continuously seek to improve and automate our tax processes.
What You’ll Do:
Review and assist with preparing quarterly and annual tax provision, including deferred tax asset/liability analysis, ensuring compliance with ASC 740 principles.
Oversee and manage U.S. federal and state income tax compliance through the partnership of external advisors, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
Prepare memorandum for proper documentation of tax positions.
Assist with financial statement disclosures.
Provide support during audits, internal controls testing, and tax authority reviews.
Assist with federal, state tax credit opportunities.
Conduct tax research and provide technical guidance on tax law changes, regulatory developments, and business impacts.
Who You Are:
A licensed CPA with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accounting, tax, finance or related field
Experienced with at least 5 years of corporate tax experience, including working knowledge of ASC 740 or experience in corporate tax compliance and reporting gained through tax advisory roles and/or in-house tax positions.
A self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, demanding environments.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical, accounting, and documentation skills.
Skilled at prioritizing, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.
Collaborative and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
A plus: experience with ERP systems (Netsuite) and/or tax provision software

The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role at Datadog is:
$120,000 — $155,000 USD
