Bilingual Counter Sales
The Counter Sales position focuses on delivering exceptional customer service by assisting customers in-store and over the phone, answering product inquiries, processing sales orders, and troubleshooting technical issues. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and organized showroom, managing inventory levels, and adhering to company pricing and credit guidelines. This role requires strong communication skills to build customer relationships, identify needs, and recommend appropriate products. Basic computer skills are essential, with experience in point-of-sale systems and HVAC product knowledge preferred. Counter Sales and Storefront Duties: Answer incoming telephone calls and greet store customers. Manage multiple customer interactions simultaneously while maintaining a friendly and professional manner. Assist with system or product troubleshooting and answering technical questions. Research and source products for customers using a variety of tools, including point-of-sale computer system, catalogs, websites, JXI, and industry and store contacts. Enter sales orders in point-of-sale computer system for invoicing or cash payments. Process customer returns and warranties following company guidelines. Maintain the highest standards in cleanliness and appearance of the showroom through stocking shelves, housekeeping, creating displays, etc. Adhere to company pricing and credit guidelines. Communicate unexpected increases or decreases in product demand and inventory to purchasing or management. Client Experience and Engagement Duties: Develop good working relationships and rapport with customers. Utilize questions and active listening to assist customers, identify their needs, recommend products, and secure sales. Educate prospective customers on the variety of products available for sale and the benefits of shopping at Johnstone Supply Follow up promptly on all customer requests for information, quotes, alternative parts and delivery dates. Proactively communicates with customers about any expected delays or issues with their order. Resolve customer complaints and disputes in a timely, professional manner that balances customer requests with business needs. Uncover and communicate sales lead information to outside sales staff and management. Required: Proficient conversational English skills. The ability to read and write in English, as necessitated for data entry, order placement, reports, or related activities. Conversational fluency in Spanish. Preferred: Experience with computer or barcode driven inventory management systems. Demonstrated understanding and application of effective sales strategies and techniques. Skill in using point-of-sale computer systems to locate information and process transactions. General knowledge of HVACR products, concepts, and the industry as a whole. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Ability to lift to 75 pounds climb and balance on ladders and equipment; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; and reach, push, pull and manipulate. Most work is performed in a climate-controlled retail setting where noise levels are low-to-moderate. Warehouse environment is climate-controlled but may be open to dust/dirt.
