Job Description
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support containerization development across large Naval Submarine subsystems. This technology fosters a common, open-architecture system-of-systems electronic design aboard submarines to enhance interoperability during joint operations with integrated fighting forces. The engineer will utilize their expertise to write secure code for communication between Kubernetes and a private cloud for edge communication.
Responsibilities
Perform software integration. Enable a Linux system to operate with a private cloud, including testing, debugging code, and working with containers and orchestrators. Design, develop, and deploy containers using Kubernetes in a Linux OS environment, optimizing system performance, security, and scalability. Develop Kubernetes rulesets for scheduling, implement interprocess communication within containers, and optimize GPU performance.
Essential Skills
Proficient in Kubernetes, Java, Linux. Experience with integration, RKE2, container technologies. Development, integration, troubleshooting experience with the Linux Operating System. Experience with designing and building containers with Kubernetes for efficient deployment and management. BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and 8+ years of experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with GPU optimization within containers. Proficiency with RKE2 and KubeVIP. Experience with Agile development methodologies. Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN. Knowledge of interprocess communication within containers and pod networking. Proficiency with Kubernetes rulesets for scheduling. Experience in designing containers to be highly available.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.
