The Payload Systems Team at HawkEye 360 is seeking a Senior Payload Reliability Engineer to strengthen our ability to diagnose and resolve cross-system failures. You will design and maintain investigation tools, work across engineering teams to root cause issues, and develop frameworks to improve payload reliability on orbit. This role is highly cross-functional and ideal for an engineer who enjoys jumping into diverse challenges.
As the Senior Software Engineer - Systems Reliability, your main responsibilities will be:
Designing tools and workflows to support root cause analysis and anomaly investigations Collaborating with software, FPGA, and systems engineers to resolve mission-critical reliability issues Developing data pipelines, dashboards, or automation to accelerate diagnosis Participating in flight system monitoring and trending analysis Supporting cross-team efforts to harden the payload against known and emerging failure modes
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential Education And Experience
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience with embedded systems, system troubleshooting, or reliability engineering Versatile skills across Linux, Python, CI/CD frameworks, and system-level debugging Experience with telemetry and data visualization tools is a plus Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Base Salary Range:
$130,000 - $170,000 annually
HawkEye 360 offers a compensation package that includes a competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus and benefits. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as candidate's work experience, education, training & skills, as well as market and business considerations. We are also open to considering candidates with experience and qualifications at a different level than required in a job posting, which may affect the compensation package offered.
