PRN (as needed), with a minimum requirement of 30 hours per month, including one weekend per month and two holidays per year.

How you'll contribute

A CT Tech, PRN who excels in this role:

Patient Assessment/Education

Identifies patient by name and birthdate. Reviews order for clinical and demographic consistency and verifies accuracy. Interviews patient for clinical history, reviews previous procedures and documents relevant history for the Radiologist. Explains procedure to patient. Explains and obtains consent for contrast if needed. Examination Performance

Prepares patient for procedure: ensures prep performed if needed and checks for any artifact-producing objects. Correctly positions patient for examination to be performed. Orders/performs correct examination. Performs procedures in accordance with established protocols and in a timely manner. Correctly operates radiology equipment. Safety

Preparation/administration of oral and IV contrast. Performs venipuncture utilizing sterile technique (for those with the competency). Recognizes and responds to emergency situations. Follows ALARA principles: wears film badge, uses patient shielding, repeat rate, etc. Qualifications

Applicants should have ARRT Registration. Additional requirements include:

Cross-trained as a CT within one year of hire.
