This position is with the Iowa Department of Corrections Sixth District. The sixth district encompasses 6 counties in Iowa (Jones, Johnson, Linn, Iowa, Tama and Benton). The Administrative Support Assistant 2 is responsible for receptionist duties at the Faches Center in Cedar Rapids. Duties will include the following: Opening and closing of the Linn County Probation/Parole office. Greeting and assisting visitors. Answering incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate person. Distributing and processing mail. Court order processing through the electronic EDMS system. This will include reviewing, sorting and sending all Linn and Jones county orders. ICON data entry. Maintains UA protocol and phone line. Minimum Qualification Requirements: Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification: One year of full-time work experience in general office, clerical, data entry/processing, or related work. A total of one year of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience. Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 1.
