SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring excellent responsiveness to customer inquiries regarding payment, insurance, membership and/or general information.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure daily customer happiness Responsible for answering patient inquiries via phone or in-person Placing phone calls to customers and facilities to obtain insurance or demographic information Verify insurance coverage via insurance websites or phone calls to insurance companies Research returned mail to make necessary changes to correct patient insurance and/or demographics Enter patient correspondence into the patient account Provide support for the yearly membership renewal and application process Must follow HIPAA guidelines at all times to protect customer PHI Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Must have a minimum of one year of previous customer service experience in the medical field. Ability to type 40 WPM. Excellent phone etiquette. Accurate, basic typing skills and computer operation knowledge including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Must pass all Life EMS pre-employment requirements as outlined on the Conditional Offer of Employment Must demonstrate positive, respectful behavior in dealing with people at all levels. Must be interviewed by a Life EMS designee. COVID-19 Vaccination highly encouraged
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand;
walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs;
balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
