Description
TD&I Cable Maintenance, LLC is seeking a full in-house underground drop crew to join our growing team in Cold Spring, MN. The crew will consist of 2 to 3 skilled individuals responsible for installing telecommunications service drops from the main line to customer premises. This team will follow construction plans provided by a Supervisor and work together to complete underground fiber drop projects efficiently and safely. Ideal crews will be dependable, safety-conscious, and experienced in underground utility work. This is a great opportunity for an established crew or group of individuals who work well together and are ready to join a stable and growing company.
Sign-On Bonus!!!
Sign-on bonus of $1,500 per employee up to a 3-person crew, if you meet job qualifications. Bonus paid out in 60, 90, 120-day intervals.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Install fiber and/or coax drops using plows, drills, and other equipment.
• Complete driveway, road, and sidewalk bores per job specifications.
• Perform drop buries to the required specifications, installation of pipe, direct bury fiber, cane & Nid Installations.
• Operate drop plows, mini-excavators, and 7X11 / 9X13 Vermeer directional drills.
• Read and follow construction prints, work orders, and project layouts.
• Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles and ensuring a safe working environment.
• Material Handling: Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment necessary for construction tasks.
• Site Clean-Up: Remove debris and garbage from work sites and assist in restoration efforts post-construction.
• Traffic Regulation: Regulate traffic flow and erect traffic signs in accordance with MUTCD guidelines to ensure safety around the construction site.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety standards.
• Excavation Work: Perform digging potholes, trenching, and other underground excavation work as required for utility maintenance.
Minimum Skills & Experience Required:
• Must have prior experience in direct bury of fiber and/or coax.
• Valid Driver's License with minimal driving violations within the past 5 years.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. regularly and perform strenuous outdoor tasks
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and job instructions.
• Comfortable using basic technology for time entry, job tracking, or communication.
• Excellent communication, time management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
• 2+ years of experience in drop bury or underground utilities.
• Experience with drop plow, directional drill, mini-excavator, and locating equipment.
• Familiarity with industry-standard tools and techniques for fiber installation.
• Possession or ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
• CDL with tanker endorsement (or willingness to obtain) for operating larger commercial vehicle combinations.
• Knowledge of traffic regulation and safety standards (MUTCD).
• Understanding of and compliance with OSHA Construction Safety standards.
Salary Description
$22.00 - $28.00 depending on experience
