Role Summary Were seeking a highly experienced, Spanish-speaking Plant Manager to lead production, improve efficiency, and ensure quality, safety, and consistency across the facility. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with 7+ years in bakery manufacturing, frozen food, or pizza production who can stabilize day-to-day operations, scale output, and build systems that last. Responsibilities Production Operations & Efficiency Optimize workflow, reduce costs and waste, and improve pounds-per-labor-hour, net yield, changeover time, and downtime. Build and enforce SOPs and daily/weekly schedules for retail, food service, and e-commerce demand. Maintain strict accountability to efficiency, yield, and labor standards; meet transportation/sales deadlines. Drive automation initiatives that increase output and reduce labor where sensible. Food Safety, Quality & Compliance (USDA/FDA) Own HACCP, GMPs, FSMA Preventive Controls (PCQI), sanitation SSOPs, allergen control, environmental monitoring, pest/chemical programs. Stay audit-ready for USDA/FSIS, FDA/FSMA, SQF/NSF, customer, and state/local inspections; lead inspections and manage documentation/CAPAs. Supervise QA/inspection personnel; inspect procedures and outputs, correct non-conformities, and maintain CCPs. Uphold OSHA/EHS requirements and a safety-first culture. Recruit, train, and develop supervisors and hourly teams; maintain a strong, motivated, accountable workforce. Conduct regular performance reviews; coach, recognize, and address gaps quickly. Control attendance and overtime; ensure clear shift-to-shift communication and handoffs. Provide ongoing training in food safety, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, and best practices; build a skills matrix and cross-training plan. Identify leadership potential and grow future leaders. Maintenance & Facilities Oversee equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs; coordinate vendors for service, calibration, and inspections. Enforce LOTO, guarding, pathways, signage; track downtime by asset and drive root cause/corrective action. Use Fishbowl to manage raw/WIP/finished goods; maintain lot codes, FIFO, full traceability, and accurate counts. Supervise ingredient usage, packaging materials, and cost control; reduce write-offs and obsolescence. Partner with Purchasing, Sales, and Logistics to ensure material availability and on-time delivery without over/under-stocking. Maintain complete records of performance, downtime, variances, and continuous improvement actions. KPIs You Will Own Quality/Safety: yield %, waste/rework %, complaints/returns per 10k units, audit scores, CAPA closure time, incident rate Inventory: accuracy %, days on hand, write-offs, cycle-count results, recall/trace drill time Qualifications 5+ years in a supervisory/managerial role in bakery manufacturing, frozen food, or pizza production. Fluent in Spanish (required). Strong knowledge of dough mixing, fermentation, oven operation/bake profiles, and production equipment. Proven command of HACCP, GMPs, OSHA, SQF, and regulatory frameworks (USDA/FSIS, FDA/FSMA). Proficiency with Fishbowl (preferred/required per your setup) or similar ERP/MRP; Microsoft Word/Excel and Google Workspace (required). Demonstrated success improving throughput, yield, cost, and service while leading teams. Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment; lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Schedule: MondayFriday; occasional early/late/Weekend work during audits, installs, or surges. On-site only (Brooklyn, NY) no remote work. Must be able to commute to 11232 (required) or relocate before start (required).
