Position Overview:

The Aerospace Painter is responsible for surface preparation and precision coating of military-grade tools, castings, and machinery parts. This position is critical to delivering high-quality finished components that meet strict aerospace and military specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial paint systems, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of coating processes for metal substrates.

What You’ll Do:

Prepare surfaces through cleaning, sanding, masking, and other prep methods to ensure proper adhesion

Apply primers, topcoats, and specialized coatings including CARC (Chemical Agent Resistant Coating) to meet military and aerospace standards

Operate HVLP spray guns, pressure pots, ovens, and other finishing equipment safely and efficiently

Read and interpret job travelers, technical data sheets, and blueprints to verify coating requirements

Ensure proper documentation of paint batches, lot numbers, and inspection records for traceability

Inspect finished work for quality, thickness, coverage, and cosmetic appearance

Maintain a clean and organized work area to support product integrity and safety

Work closely with QA and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve finish-related issues

Comply with all safety protocols and wear required PPE when handling hazardous materials

Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices in the paint department

What You’ll Bring:

High school diploma or GED required

Minimum 2+ years of industrial or aerospace/military painting experience

Familiarity with CARC systems, MIL-SPECs, and masking procedures for critical surfaces

Experience working with cast aluminum, steel, brass, and other precision components

Strong understanding of surface preparation techniques and spray application methods

Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow strict work instructions

Ability to work independently and in a team setting under tight deadlines

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

U.S. citizenship required for work on defense-related contracts

Work Environment & Schedule:

Standard schedule: Monday to Thursday, 10-hour shifts

Flexibility required for Fridays and weekends based on production needs
