Are you an experienced external communications professional in financial services in NYC with a track record of positioning senior leaders as thought leaders and driving media engagement with tier one business and financial outlets such as the FT, and Bloomberg? We are seeking a talented and experienced External Communications Manager to join our client's, a global industry-leading law firm, communications team. As the External Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the firms financial services practice's external communications strategy, enhancing its U.S. and global presence, and positioning the firm as a thought leader in the legal field. Responsibilities
Work with Partners and senior lawyers to design and deliver external communications strategies aligned with the firms objectives
Cultivate and manage relationships with tier one U.S. media contacts and influencers across business, financial and trade press.
Craft high-quality press releases, media statements, and other external communication materials
Lead and oversee external communications campaigns from conception through execution and evaluation
Develop and track metrics to assess the effectiveness of external communications initiatives
Qualifications
Extensive experience in external communications, with a strong background in media relations and public relations within professional services
Trustworthy with sensitive and confidential information
Highly motivated, flexible, enthusiastic, and creative with the required determination to achieve results
Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to work and focus on accuracy
Polite and confident in manner with the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy
Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic communication plans that drive business objectives
Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
