TITLE:
Bus Driver
REPORTS TO:
Director/Asst. Director of Transportation
JOB GOAL:
To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular activities.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as a bus driver Performs other job related duties as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor. Obeys all traffic laws. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses. Maintains discipline of students on bus according to the method prescribed by the driver manual. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority. Keeps assigned bus clean. Keeps to assigned route and schedule. Checks bus before each operation as required by pre-trip inspection. Maintains proper level of fuel and fluids in bus. Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness. Discharges students only as described in the Driver Manual. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips. Transports only authorized students. Reports all accidents and completes required reports. Enforces regulations specified in the School Bus Drivers Manual as approved by the State and Local Boards of Education. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Valid operator's License (CDL required). S endorsement Must pass all requirements of the State and Russell Independent Board of Education. Positive character references. Ability to work with other drivers and assist in their training. Kentucky certified school bus driver trainer or willing to complete the course within one year. Such other alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Satisfactory completion of State mandated health examination. EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Director of Transportation. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary commensurate with the Russell Independent Schools Classified Salary Schedule.
