Manager, Manufacturing Engineering I

Objective of the Position:
Directs and coordinates all manufacturing engineering activities at the plant for products, services, or ideologies by performing duties personally or through subordinates. Approves all engineering/drawing changes and tooling design and improvements. Initiates and implements cost reduction and quality improvement projects. Essential Accountabilities: Coordinate Manufacturing Engineering activities after product launch for the assigned plant. Research and formulate new manufacturing & quality improvement projects involving improved methods, standards, tools, and practices. Communicate with company personnel and suppliers/vendors to resolve project, quality, customer issues, timing plans, equipment design and delivery strategies, project launch details, and engineering changes. Review and analyze proposals to determine benefits and justification for expenditure; submit feasible proposals for management approval; conduct experiments and studies to generate data supporting proposals. Develop and implement methods for monitoring projects, including expenditure records and progress reports to inform management. Initiate, manage, and follow cost reduction projects targeting manufacturing costs and consumables. Coordinate with production to resolve daily problems, implement improvements, and plan for future manufacturing needs. Ensure robustness of manufacturing data, routings, BOMs, etc. Secondary Accountabilities: Conduct all business activities within applicable legal requirements. Support and comply with all HSE policies and procedures. Promote quality in accordance with TS16949 and ISO 14001 standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirement Profile: Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. At least 10 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, preferably in processing development. Minimum 5 years of experience working for a manufacturing supplier, preferably automotive. At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Training in Lean Manufacturing Methods. Ability to travel domestically. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP. Technical Expertise: Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and projections. Knowledge of mathematical concepts and operations. Ability to read, comprehend, and write technical correspondence. Analytical skills to synthesize complex information and design workflows. Business acumen regarding decision implications. Knowledge of continuous improvement practices, engineering fundamentals, mechanical, automotive, and exhaust systems.
