The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects from concept through completion. This role serves as a technical liaison between cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, finance, contracts, and external partners, ensuring project objectives are met on time, within scope, and on budget. The Project Engineer applies engineering principles and project management practices to drive innovation, resolve technical challenges, and deliver high-quality solutions aligned with organizational goals. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position. The successful candidate will leverage their technical background to drive the team towards execution of deliverables in accordance with customer milestones and requirements across various topic areas, including systems engineering, modeling and simulation, digital engineering, additive manufacturing, high-temperature materials, mechanical testing, component quality assurance, validation, and verification. Candidates with recent and relevant experience in these areas will be most successful. Who We Are

It works through applied research, state-of-the-art facilities, and partnerships to translate discoveries into innovative solutions and services for government, industry, NGOs, and foundations. What We Are Looking For

Required: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields. Two (2) years experience or substantial hands-on experience in metal additive manufacturing. Salary and responsibilities will be commensurate with experience.

Preferred: Related industrial experience. Experience working in a laboratory research environment.

Skills

Required: Strong project management skills, including managing schedules, budgets, scope, and resources. Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project). Hands-on experience in modeling, simulation, systems engineering, additive manufacturing, material characterization, or validation and verification. Excellent problem-solving and collaborative skills. Ability to provide technical direction in proposals. Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Preferred: PMP certification (desired but not required).

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Failure to do so may result in termination. Additional Information
