Position Description:

We're looking for an adaptable, patient-focused Medical Assistant who thrives in a dynamic, research-driven environment. At MCW's Clinical and Translational Science Institute, you'll help advance groundbreaking research while delivering compassionate care to our study participants. In the role of Medical Assistant I , you will be part of the Clinical and Translational Research Support Office, supporting the Translational Research Unit (TRU). You'll combine direct patient interaction with lab-based specimen processing and visit coordination to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality research visits in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day and takes pride in precision and patient care. From welcoming participants and preparing exam rooms, to drawing and processing samples, to managing visit schedules, your contributions will directly support the success of cutting-edge clinical research. Responsibilities: Greet and register

research participants, ensuring accurate documentation and required authorizations.

Escort and prepare

participants for visits, obtaining histories and vital signs, and updating records for physician review.

Prepare patient exam rooms , select instruments using aseptic and sterile techniques, and assist physicians with exams and procedures.

Perform phlebotomy

and specimen collection using proper techniques;

process and store

samples according to research protocols.

Assist in lab operations , including equipment use, supply management, and protocol preparation.

Coordinate scheduling

with clinical, lab, and bio-nutrition managers to meet study timelines.

Maintain a safe, clean environment , ensuring exam rooms and supplies are ready for each participant.

Preferred Schedule:

7:30am - 4:30pm

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.

Two years of patient care experience OR graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on phlebotomy experience.

Strong customer service skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly desirable.

Prior research or lab processing experience.
