Overview
We are seeking a HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer for a direct assignment in Cary, North Carolina. The selected candidate will work with a multi-discipline team to produce HVAC mechanical and plumbing systems concepts, fire protection design concepts and perform HVAC mechanical and plumbing calculations.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
** This is a Direct Hire position **
** This position can work a Hybrid schedule in Cary, NC **
** This position requires a Professional Engineer License (PE) **
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to represent mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing) for pharmaceutical projects
- Oversee HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection
- Assess project requirements and oversee project design to completion
- Manage designers and budgeted hours
- Work with code officials and other design professionals when there is an interpretation or exception to design standards
- HVAC mechanical and plumbing calculations including load and energy / total cost of ownership analysis
- Coordinate with other disciplines towards a comprehensive and coordinated product
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- A Professional Engineer License (PE)
- 15+ years experience within Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Life Sciences industry
- A Solid understanding of cGMP, ISO and ISPE standards
- A Solid understanding of HVAC and associated hydronic systems
- Working knowledge of HVAC and pumping control strategies
