The 61st Street Service Corporation provides administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors. This position will support ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. ColumbiaDoctors' practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses, offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties. Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will serve as a key member of the patient care team in an ambulatory setting. The LPN will work closely with providers across multiple specialties as well as with other clinical and administrative staff to deliver an exceptional patient experience that contributes to positive health outcomes for patients and a work culture of kindness, inclusion, integrity, accountability, and excellence. Job Responsibilities
The job responsibilities include: Greet patients and assist administrative staff with coordinating patient flow. Perform vital signs and document in patient's electronic record. Gather and populate MU data on patient's electronic record. Administer injections as ordered by providers. Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture as ordered by providers and prepare specimens to be transported to lab. Perform point of care testing as trained, maintain log books. Assist physicians with clinical procedures and examinations. Develop and maintain educational material for patients. Oversee completion of daily refrigerator/freezer logs. Clinical order entry as needed. Monitor supply inventories for practice and order supplies as needed. Provide coverage of other clinical staff as needed. Participate in debriefing and quality improvement practices. Provide chaperone duties as required. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications
The job qualifications include: High school graduate or equivalency and graduated from an accredited Practical Nursing program required. 2 years' relevant experience required. Current NYS LPN license in good standing required. Current BCLS/AED certification required. Must demonstrate proficiency of OSHA standards. Must demonstrate strong organizational and problem solving skills. Must have excellent communication skills. Strong proficiency in computer skills. Regular exposure to blood and body fluids. Will provide coverage as requested throughout practices. Prior EMR experience, EPIC preferred. Prior experience in an Obstetrics and/or Gynecological medical practice is preferred.
