Job DescriptionSummary:Seeking a senior level Controls Engineer that is capable of leading the electrical controls design and programming of custom automated assembly machines from concept to client acceptance. Responsible for understanding the concept, budget and schedule and staying within the project deadline and budget requirements. Responsibilities:•Proficiency with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs and HMIs (one is a must, both are preferred) - programming, troubleshooting, debug•Able to write PLC to device software interface including implementation documentation and validation plan•Skilled in commissioning intelligent devices on fieldbus networks (Ethernet I/P, ProfiNet, etc.) with very good troubleshooting skills•Robot programming (Epson, Adept, Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Staubli, ABB)•Precision motion control involving coordinated motion•Machine vision specifying and programming (Cognex and/or Keyence)•Participate in internal and customer design reviews, installations, and service calls when needed.•Able to communicate engineering concepts and ideas clearly (to builders, customers, and others)Education: •Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering•8+ years of controls engineering experience in custom automation; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceSalary: $110,000 to $120,000 based on experienceFull benefits package availableMeet Your RecruiterSteve StableyAutomation Recruiter 630-993-3405 sstabley@sterling-engineering.com Connect on LinkedIn As one of the most respected names in engineering staffing, Sterling has hundreds of opportunities with top employers.
