Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Quality Leader, it is responsibility of the Quality Engineer to implement, maintain and evaluate the company's quality programs. Designs, installs, and evaluates quality process sampling plans, documents, and statistical techniques; designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; recommends revision of specifications when indicated; formulates or helps formulate quality system documentation. Conducts training on quality concepts and tools both internal and external (suppliers). Interfaces with all other functions within the organization and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues. Drive corrective/preventive actions, auditing and continuous improvement activities of the company, both internally and external with suppliers. This position will require occasional travel to suppliers or customers.

Duties/Responsibilities: Manage OEM related customer portals for quality needs. Designs, installs, and evaluates quality processes. Designs, implements, and monitors sampling plans and quality system documentation. Evaluates Statistical data and makes recommendations to leadership on ways to improve manufacturing and inspection processes. Drive continual improvement. (Lean-Sigma) Report quality related data / results and improvement actions. Assist the Quality Leader in training employees on basic & advanced quality techniques. Monitor supplier performance and follow up on corrective actions. Provide support to purchasing relating to supplier audits and improvement needs. Assist manufacturing in achieving quality results and capability of those processes under their control. Identify trends in product, process or quality system non-conformances, which require corrective and prevention action (8D), Participate in APQP, Assemble PPAP and other customer required documentation packages, Perform internal and supplier quality audits, Program & run CMM and other related inspection equipment. Backup to the Quality Leader as needed, Other duties as assigned by company leadership. Required Skills/Abilities:

Results oriented professional with a track record of improving all relevant Quality KPI's/metrics, Expertise in ISO 9001 related quality management systems, Six Sigma experienced with history of personal practical application, Robust experience in metals precision machining and assembly environment, Relevant Tier 1 or 2 OEM experience and expertise, Strong knowledge and expertise in GD&T, metrology & gaging practices, Strong written and verbal communication skills, Expert level in MS Office, MiniTab etc., Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Well versed in AIAG methodology: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Planning, MSA, SPC. Education and Experience:

AS or BS degree in engineering or extensive related experience. Tier 1 or 2 OEM experience required. ASQ (American Society of Quality) Certified Quality Technician / Engineer and/or Quality Auditor. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt. CMM Programmer (PCDMIS).

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, feel/reach with hands/arms, talk, and hear.

The employee frequently is required to sit and walk. The employee is occasionally required to bend and stop, push and pull, reach above shoulder level, kneel, squat, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
