Our client, a well-established manufacturer in the Montague, MI area, is seeking a skilled
Controls Technician
to join their team on either
2nd or 3rd shift . This is a
direct hire opportunity

In this role, you'll work hands-on with advanced manufacturing equipment, robotics, and PLC systems, ensuring smooth production and minimal downtime. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment and robotics using PLC interfaces. Participate in the design, development, and problem-solving of current and future assembly and test equipment. Observe machine operations to identify the source of malfunctions and implement solutions. Use test instruments to troubleshoot process issues and restore equipment functionality. Replace, adjust, and calibrate components to ensure operations meet specifications. Maintain a technical library for components, equipment procurement, and testing parameters. Utilize computers/software for testing, data collection, analysis, and storage of product and process data. Ensure calibration and repair of all testing and assembly equipment, including PLCs, oscilloscopes, counters, and analyzers. Manage procurement, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation to ensure optimal production performance. Maintain a clean, organized, and contaminant-free work environment. Perform additional related duties as required. Job Requirements
Qualifications
Associate degree in Electronics Technology
preferred
or equivalent experience. 2-5 years
of relevant experience in electrical controls, automation, or equipment maintenance. Solid knowledge of:
Basic electricity, industrial controls, and microprocessors Programming/logic and ladder logic Electrical schematics, AC/DC circuits, and solid-state devices Electronic system troubleshooting and DOS basics Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Motion controllers
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Skills & Attributes
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation environment. Strong analytical thinking with a methodical approach to troubleshooting. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting. Familiarity with advanced testing equipment and calibration processes. Titles Encouraged to Apply:
