Supplier Quality Engineer

in

Senior Quality Manager , the

Supplier Quality Engineer

is responsible for supplier development in manufacturing or service processes. This role involves working with suppliers to improve performance, implement process controls, and develop quality assurance plans. Typical Responsibilities Supplier Selection:

Select suitable suppliers based on quality, capability, pricing, delivery, environmental, social regulations, etc., aligned with customer requirements. Supplier Qualification:

Implement qualification processes including capability matching, risk assessment, self-assessment, onsite audits, and database management. Value-Added Engineering (VEA):

Understand customer drawings and specifications to provide feedback for process or product optimization. Material Qualification:

Conduct PPAP/FAI, including material certificates, control plans, FMEA, MSA, compliance, and testing. Pilot Run Tracking:

Monitor quality performance during pilot phases and facilitate corrective actions to ensure smooth transition to mass production. Issue Resolution and Troubleshooting:

Act as Subject Matter Expert to resolve supplier quality issues. Audits and Continuous Improvement:

Assist in annual supplier audits and promote continuous improvement programs using quality tools. ECO/ECN/SCR Handling:

Manage engineering change requests from customers, including PPAP/FAI if required. Process and Quality Assurance:

Conduct process capability studies, develop process validations, and guide supplier process improvements. Supplier Relationship Management:

Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams to ensure quality and compliance. Performance Monitoring:

Track supplier performance, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications Typically requires 4 years of engineering experience in high-tech electronics or related fields. Strong technical skills, troubleshooting, and process knowledge. Ability to analyze technical journals, write reports, and communicate effectively. Impact operational success and lead initiatives affecting multiple sites or customers. Exercise independent judgment within established policies. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
