As an Engineer at Invesco, you will align business outcomes to technology goals and objectives. Responsibilities include managing decision sciences and advanced analytics initiatives, data integration/engineering, and designing large-scale data pipelines using various analytics frameworks to support Data Science practices. The role requires strong technical skills and close collaboration with business units.
You will be responsible for:
Building robust data pipelines using modern data engineering technologies and Cloud architecture.
Managing application and data integration platforms with AWS Cloud Components.
Enabling full lifecycle development of projects from planning to deployment, following Agile standards.
Ensuring data availability and support for business reporting within SLAs.
Managing solution providers and defining sourcing approaches.
Creating and maintaining architecture documentation and design artifacts.
Delivering reference architectures and promoting architecture standards.
Partnering with Business Analytics to optimize cloud environments supporting data sciences.
Maintaining code and environment for evolving data-driven capabilities.
Understanding integration issues with emerging technologies to inform data strategies.
Assisting in software architecture decision-making.
Supporting the development of data engineering and feature engineering capabilities.
Standardizing development practices across teams.
Collaborating with business experts to improve data management and analytics capabilities.
Communicating technical requirements for data ingestion and verification.
The experience you bring:
1-2 years in data modeling, warehousing, and big data architectures.
1-2 years working with AWS services such as S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda, DMS, Glue, CloudWatch, SNS.
Experience building data pipelines with Apache Airflow.
Proficiency in SQL and query optimization.
Knowledge of databases like Oracle, MS SQL Server, Postgres, Aurora, Athena, Redshift Spectrum.
Experience with columnar data stores such as Redshift, Snowflake, Parquet.
Working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
Proficiency in application architecture and programming with Python or Scala.
Understanding of data modeling techniques and distributed processing with Spark or Hadoop.
Experience with version control systems like GitHub or Bitbucket.
Knowledge of cloud architecture, networking, and security.
Experience working in agile environments.
Experience with traditional data pipelines (e.g., Informatica).
Exposure to AWS machine learning services is a plus.
Understanding of RESTful API design and DevOps practices are advantageous.
