Opportunity
A food runneris responsible fordelivering the food from the kitchen to a guest in a restaurant. Theyare responsible forensuring that each guest receives the correct order. A few of the main duties of a foodrunner areassistingthe chef with calling orders in the kitchen, double checking orders, matching the food ticket to the guest, and refilling guest's drinks. They will alsopossessthe knowledge to answer any food questions a guest may have.
SPECIFIC R
ESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests’ tables rapidly and accurately without confusion of what each guest ordered
Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g.
food allergies)
Organize food tickets for the chefs
Assistthe wait staff with table setting by placingappropriate tableware
Serve welcome drinks and hors d’oeuvres, upon guests’ arrival
Ensure food is servedin accordance withsafety standards (e.g.proper temperature)
Double check the order before it goes to a guest
Deliver food from the kitchen to the correct guest without confusion of what each guest ordered
Remove dirty dishes and utensils
Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
Inform restaurant staff about guests’ feedback or requests (e.g.when they ask for the check)
Skills/Requirements
Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
Availability to work various shifts, including weekends
Multi-tasking abilities
Good oral communication skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to listen to directions
Great organizational skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This joboperatesin a restaurant environment. This role routinely usessinks and dishwashersand tools to clean tables and floors. Employees in this role arefrequentlyexposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbagedisposalsand cleaning chemicals.

The employee isfrequentlyrequired to stand, walk, sit,climbor balance, and stoop or kneel. The employee mustfrequentlylift and/or move objects up to

pounds. Ability to stand for at least 8 hours per shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The hourly range for this position is $10.40. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
