Job DescriptionSelectek has an immediate need to hire a Mechanical Engineer in the Spartanburg, SC area. This is a full-time position, expected to go direct hire within 6 months of start date.Responsibilities: Design and oversee the mechanical aspects of pilot plants in the chemical and petrochemical industries. Collaborate with clients, vendors, suppliers, and fabricators to ensure project success. Support equipment assembly, start-up, installation, validation, and field service as needed.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in process equipment and pressure vessel design. Experience in stress analysis, FEA, stainless steel fabrication, piping, flow, heat transfer, and instrumentation/controls. Familiarity with chemical processes and electrical instrumentation/automation. Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Codeware) and MS Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills; energetic and outgoing with effective customer interaction abilities. Experience in installing and operating R&D equipment and conducting experiments.Preferred Qualifications: EIT or PE certification is a plus. Knowledge of ASME Section 8 Division 1 (pressure vessels) and PED codes preferred. Experience in overseeing design/drafter activities. Background in production processes is a plus.
