Cooks are responsible for preparing and serving meals for residents and staff. In addition, this position maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary condition in the kitchen and dining areas. Also performs regular preventative maintenance on kitchen and dining area equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand banquet serving and prep.
Basic understands of cooking in large volume.
The ability to read and follow a receipt.
Organize, label and date of all dry storage, coolers, and freezer areas.
Continuously inspects kitchen and dining areas for safety hazards and takes corrective measures immediately as needed, or reports needed repairs to facilities.
Cleaning of kitchen and dining area to maintain healthy and sanitary environment.
Qualifications:
1-2 years' experience as a prep cook/ line cook or banquet cook.
Possess professional food handler's card.
Must be able to fluently read, write and communicate in English.
Great customer service skills.
Ability to work well with a diverse population.
Must be available to work morning, afternoons and early evening hours, including weekends.
Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, reach, kneel, stand, stoop, crouch, climb and squat. Reach and grasp objects (including above head and below waistline).
