Overview Everett Community College is building a pool of qualified candidates to teach in the College Success Department. We anticipate hiring for Fall and Winter quarters 2025. Applicants will be contacted as openings occur. Assignments include instruction for a range of college success courses that support new students entering college and help them achieve a graduation requirement at Everett Community College. Perform all duties in accordance with the faculty contract and college policy. TITLE:

Duties & Responsibilities

Teaching Foster an equitable, anti-racist, and culturally inclusive learning environment and demonstrate an awareness of the experiences and needs of the current student population Develop curriculum, prepare, modify and deliver teaching/learning activities designed to maximize student learning and foster inclusive excellence. Teach courses in accordance with the course record, course syllabus, approved student learning objectives, and quarterly course schedules. Design and/or deliver course assignments, learning activities and assessments that enable students to meet the course's stated learning outcomes. Develop a current course syllabus using the College's inclusive syllabus template and submit it to the Instruction Office prior to the start of the quarter. At the course level, assess student work using appropriate methodologies that promote further learning; at the department or program level; at the program or department level, disaggregate, review and assess student learning outcomes with the goal of continuous improvement and reduction of opportunity gaps. Complete summative evaluations of student work during the College's scheduled finals week; submit final grades by the designated deadline. Create and maintain department and student records in accordance with college policies and procedures. Refer students to college services, community agencies and other professionals as appropriate. Establish, post, and maintain regularly scheduled office hours for consultation with students. Continuation of Professional Standards Stay current in relevant best practices, emerging topics, and research. Participation in College Matters Complete annual trainings as required by state and federal law and the College as identified by the College. Associate Faculty will be compensated for trainings required by the College. Maintain certification and/or licensure required by the College in the performance of the faculty member's assignment. Optional Duties By mutual agreement, compensation may be available for participation in the following:

Opening week activities, meetings and professional development opportunities. Faculty forum. Annual graduation ceremony in June. Serving on committees. Department, division and college meetings and be involved in department, division and college matters. Maintain regular office hours for consultation with students. Advise students in their course selections, programs, and pathways.

Reassigned Time The leadership of the College has the right to assign faculty duties to faculty members. Faculty may be assigned non-faculty duties including, but not limited to, administrative functions, leadership of college initiatives, or other specially assigned duties. Qualifications Required Education and Experience:

Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, developmental education or a related field College level teaching experience with emphasis on active learning strategies Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Familiarity with academic planning, time management, goal setting, study skills, and educational pathways. Awareness of diverse learning styles, motivational strategies, and goal achievement practices. Ability to guide students through a fast-paced, modular course using a shared curriculum; design clear instructions; and adapt materials to students' needs. Skill in using rubrics for evaluating qualitative assignments, providing constructive feedback, and supporting student reflection and revision. Ability to engage students respectfully across modalities, respond to questions within stated timelines, and hold virtual / in-person office hours effectively. Ability to prioritize student growth, accommodate diverse needs and formats, and support students in connecting coursework to personal goals. Ability to help students develop analytical thinking as they evaluate resources, construct academic plans, and reflect on their learning journey. Ability to create an inclusive learning environment, support diverse perspectives, and foster respectful peer interaction. Ability to recognize that students face real-life challenges; offer grace and guidance while upholding course expectations. Preferred

Successful experience instructing students from diverse backgrounds including differences in culture, heritage, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion Experience teaching students with learning differences and/or learning disabilities Experience using the Canvas learning management system or other online system Understanding of campus resources such as advising, tutoring, financial aid, library services, student rights/responsibilities, and equity-based support systems. Knowledge of different types of financial aid and strategies for covering college costs. Proficient in using learning management systems (Canvas), video conferencing, digital communication tools, and accessible formats for assignments (audio, video, slides, etc.). Ability to adapt due dates and expectations based on student needs and communicate any course adjustments clearly. Additional Information PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
