About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Custodial Operations to oversee facilities management for a large K-12 school district. This role centers on custodial operations with some oversight of grounds and maintenance services. The Director will lead and develop staff, ensure top-quality service delivery, and maintain strong client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage custodial operations for a K-12 school district; oversee some grounds/maintenance; lead and develop staff; ensure client satisfaction; manage budgets and reporting; ensure compliance with regulations; drive business results and operational excellence.

Provide overall management of custodial operations with limited oversight of grounds and maintenance. Lead, develop, and mentor a diverse team; foster staff growth and career development. Ensure compliance with operational, safety, and regulatory standards. Drive efficiency in custodial services, including floor care and equipment use. Manage financial performance, budgeting, and reporting. Engage directly with clients and stakeholders, including executive leadership. Oversee project management, purchasing, and subcontracting as needed. Build and maintain strong client and community relationships. Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Facilities Management, with emphasis on custodial operations (K-12 or higher education preferred). Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and develop staff. Exceptional customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills. Experience in project management and financial/budget management. Knowledge of custodial operations, floor care, and related equipment. Nice-to-Have

Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) or related certification. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Experience in multi-unit facilities leadership.
