Description
As a core member of our engineering team, you will support several health research and related efforts at Apple, developing iOS and watchOS application platforms for various research studies to inform Apples health roadmap. You'll collaborate with data engineering, data science, algorithms, and system teams to architect new capabilities and experiences. Excellent software engineering, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills are essential for this role. Our team will: Collaborate with cross-functional partners to gather requirements, define product specifications, and inform validation to ship high-quality releases. Drive engineering architecture and implementation from early prototyping to release. Partner with Privacy, Security, and Legal teams to ensure features are designed with appropriate considerations for user privacy.
Minimum Qualifications BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent field. 3+ years of software development experience for modern Apple platforms (iOS, watchOS, macOS, visionOS). Hands-on experience with Apple technologies and frameworks (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Foundation, Core Data). Experience as a technical lead, managing software development projects and designing software architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of professional software development experience. Knowledge of systems, frameworks, and OS-level programming (Objective-C, C++, C). Familiarity with ResearchKit, HealthKit, SensorKit, CoreMotion, and related frameworks. Experience with cloud integration and managing high-bandwidth on-device data. Knowledge of data communication protocols like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Protobuf. Strong communication skills and experience leading cross-functional projects. Advocate for best practices and high-quality code. Self-directed and versatile in technology areas, including scripting and automation.
At Apple, base pay ranges from $147,400 to $272,100, depending on skills, experience, and location.
