Donation Pick-Up Driver , you are a reliable and safety-minded driver who takes pride in representing Habitat for Humanity with professionalism and courtesy. You are comfortable operating a box truck, navigating assigned routes from our warehouse in NE Portland to donors in the greater Portland Area, and performing routine vehicle checks to ensure safe operation. You bring strong communication skills and treat donors, customers, team members, and volunteers with respect. You are detail-oriented in following work orders, knowledgeable about donation acceptance criteria, and committed to completing pick-ups efficiently and effectively. You'll be responsible for:
Driving a box truck safely and lawfully, following all organizational policies and traffic regulations. Preparing for each workday by completing the Truck Safety Checklist and reviewing daily route work orders. Loading and unloading donated items safely and efficiently. Executing residential and business pick-ups, ensuring adherence to donation acceptance criteria. Accepting and documenting any fees collected in accordance with organizational procedures. Accurately completing and submitting required documentation, including donation receipts and vehicle inspection reports. Conducting regular vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness, and promptly reporting maintenance issues to ensure fleet safety and reliability. Monitoring vehicle maintenance needs and communicating concerns to the Logistics and Fleet Manager. Assisting ReStore team members with unloading trucks and other warehouse tasks as needed. Serving as a professional and courteous representative of Habitat for Humanity, fostering positive relationships with donors and the community. Adhering to all safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself and others during pick-up and delivery operations. Being available to work at various locations within the greater Portland area, including the NE ReStore Support Warehouse. To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Proficiency in operating box trucks, GPS and phone systems, and warehouse equipment, with the ability to safely maneuver and transport large loads, and knowledgeable in safety requirements with the desire and ability to teach them to others. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work alongside staff and volunteers. The ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds, sharing Habitat for Humanity and ReStore's mission and purpose across varied audiences and languages. Effective time-management skills, including punctuality, proper break management, and accurate time reporting. Valid driver's license, meeting Oregon DMV requirements, with the ability to pass a standard driver medical exam and obtain any required certifications for operating company vehicles. Any combination of formal education, paid work experience, unpaid/volunteer experience, and life experience will be considered.

Any qualifying combination of education, certification, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Certified or able to obtain and maintain certification in forklift and electric pallet jack operation, in compliance with company safety standards. Experience volunteering and/or managing volunteers Your work environment and activities:
You will spend your workday in an open warehouse environment, in a box truck or similar, and on both urban and rural streets. Assisting donors and handling donations is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and lifting throughout the entire workday in retail and residential areas. This means you will frequently lift, move, and/or load items over 50 pounds with mechanical or co-worker assistance. Your Work Schedule:
40 hours a week, including Saturday and Sunday. Current store hours: Wednesday - Monday 10am-6pm, Tuesday 11 am - 6 pm. Your Compensation:
