Requirements

Certifications:

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Code Blue + phlebotomy experience a plus) Licensure:

Active IL RN license required at submission

Experience: 2+ years ICU (travel experience highly preferred) Must be comfortable running codes (ICU RNs run all codes in the facility) Meditech EMR experience a plus

Unit / Department Details

Beds:

8 ICU

Ratios:

1:2–3 (acuity-based; some lower acuity) Common Diagnoses:

Sepsis, stroke (TNK), DKA, pneumonia, ETOH withdrawal, post-cath recovery (radial/femoral), abdominal surgical cases

Drips:

Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, TNK, etc. (some mixing required) Charge RN:

Takes assignment; Nursing Supervisor is patient-free

Support:

CNA/unit secretary as acuity allows

Monitoring:

GE Carescape + Airstrip; RNs responsible for their own strips (no monitor tech) Coverage:

eICU at night for 6/8 beds (aligns with UW Health center) Hospitalist:

24/7 (in-house during day) RT:

Available; manages RT equipment

Additional Info

Floating:

Yes – to MedSurg, Tele, or ER (full patient load) Orientation:

2 x 12-hr shifts; documentation resource available

Scrubs:

Any professional color

Holiday Requirement:

Standard rotation
