We're Who We Are

We're

The Beck Group , the largest and most innovative integrated building firm in the country. We are focused on delivering design and construction excellence on a broad range of project types. Headquartered in downtown Dallas, with offices in Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Worth, Mexico City, and Tampa, we believe a better process and outcome results from working together. At Beck, you will find yourself surrounded by passionate colleagues who have a collaborative mindset and care about each other. We are committed to hiring the best and brightest within our industry, and that's why we are seeking experienced professionals like you to help transform the industry and continue building Beck's respected reputation.

What You Bring To The Table

Beck is looking for a qualified Senior Project Manager to join an extraordinary project team. While this is an individual role, you will be involved in many facets of construction with the ability to evolve our existing operations. As the Senior Project Manager, you are primarily responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a project, overseeing all project financials, schedule, risk management, quality, and client relationships and needs. You also supervise the work and development of the project team to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc. You will be designated the lead Project Manager over multiple projects simultaneously or over large projects, integrated projects, or projects of a very complex nature ranging from $50 million to $150 million in scope.

The Position Involves The Following Essential Functions

Provide complete oversight of on-site construction, with added focus on constructability and with a strong emphasis on technical execution and engineering integration, while supervising and directing a team of 5+. Lead Beck's interface with the client by establishing and maintaining trust while delivering technically sound, high-performing projects that exceed expectations at every stage. Participate heavily in preconstruction efforts, including constructability reviews, assembling bid packages, directing pre-bid meetings, detailed analysis of bids, buy-out, and contract administration. Manage and oversee the review of proposed changes from the Owner or Architect, ensuring engineering accuracy, while developing Change Orders by soliciting and thoroughly analyzing subcontractor proposals for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness. Oversee project schedules (primarily managed by superintendents) while ensuring engineering milestones and dependencies are properly sequenced and achieved in compliance with Becks scheduling policy. Identify and lead cost savings opportunities through value engineering, systems optimization, and constructability innovation. Develop and maintain accurate general conditions and general requirements budgets, including technical contingencies. Actively negotiate disputes and resolve technical or scope disagreements with Owners, Architects, Engineers, and subcontractors. Ensure construction, engineering coordination, subcontracts, and purchase orders strictly align with Contract Documents. Understand what constitutes a breach of contract or subcontract, particularly as it relates to engineering scope, and the steps required for enforcement. Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, design partners, and trade contractors to secure $25M+ in new project opportunities annually.

Who We Think Will Be a Great Fit

A leader with both the technical expertise to guide complex engineering-driven projects and the ability to mentor and develop teams. The ideal candidate communicates effectively across disciplines, collaborates with all stakeholders, and supervises every aspect of building construction with an engineering lens. You bring uncompromising authenticity and integrity, a passion for problem-solving, and the confidence to present, negotiate, and win new project pursuits.

The strongest candidates will have an understanding of the design and engineering process, with an interest in integrated project delivery, continuous process improvement, and the adoption of innovative construction technologies.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience managing vertical commercial construction projects valued up to $100M+ with significant structural, MEP, and systems complexity. 15+ years of relevant commercial construction/engineering management experience. Proven record as Project Leader in charge of project outcome (financial, schedule, technical delivery). Deep understanding of how early engineering and pre-project planning impact project delivery success. Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered). Experience using Excel, Synchro, Procore, Bluebeam, CMiC, and Revit or comparable construction and engineering coordination technologies.
