ROLE
WHC Energy Services - A Surerus Murphy Company (WHC), is seeking a motivated
Construction Manager
to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of facilities projects within WHC's energy sector operations. This role ensures that all work is performed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with WHC standards and client requirements. The Construction Manager serves as the key liaison between field operations, subcontractors, project management, and clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide overall leadership and direction for construction activities across facilities projects. Direct Manager of the Facilities Superintendents and responsible for managing workload and Superintendent assignments to Projects Liaise with Director of Projects to ensure Construction field production rates align with as-sold Project Estimate Provide visible site leadership at Facilities Project Sites Review and joint approval of Project Estimates to validate a sound construction execution plan and construction work-hours Develop and manage construction execution plans, schedules, and resource allocation. Supervise and support field personnel, subcontractors, and craft labor. Ensure compliance with WHC's Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) standards. Monitor project progress, track costs, and mitigate risks to ensure successful delivery. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to resolve technical or schedule conflicts. Lead site meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. Oversee materials, logistics, and equipment to ensure efficient utilization. Review and approve daily reports, timesheets, and work documentation. Support workforce development through mentorship, training, and performance management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of construction management experience, preferably in energy, utilities, or industrial facilities projects. Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects. Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, codes, and safety practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and contracts effectively. Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
WORKING CONDITIONS This position is based office in The Woodlands, TX or Broussard, LA.
