Consulting Engineer
As a Consulting Engineer at ProArch, you'll work directly with clients to design, implement, and support IT/OT environments. Your days will involve assessing business needs, performing technical assessments, and translating requirements into tailored technology solutions. You'll configure and manage enterprise infrastructure across Microsoft, VMware, Azure, networking, storage, and security platforms. Client interaction will be a big part of the role meeting with stakeholders, gathering requirements, presenting recommendations, and troubleshooting issues both remotely and onsite. You'll collaborate with senior consultants and other engineers to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient IT/OT solutions, while also traveling to client sites as needed. Rate depends on experience, anywhere from $40-60, depending on experience. 5+ years of IT experience with an Associate's degree or higher Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, storage, and networking Expertise in enterprise infrastructure: on-premises, hybrid, and cloud (Azure) Strong experience with Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, IIS, File Services/DFS, Hardening) Virtualization: Microsoft Hyper-V and/or VMware vSphere Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) Backup, disaster recovery, and replication technologies (Veeam, VMware SRM, Azure Site Recovery) Enterprise storage administration (DELL/EMC, HP, Microsoft, VMware SDS) Networking administration (Switching, Routing, Wireless, Firewalls Cisco, HP, Meraki, Sonicwall, Ruckus, Barracuda) Microsoft Intune / endpoint management Troubleshooting network and system issues Security best practices and system hardening Incident response experience Strong client-facing communication skills (remote, phone, on-site) Ability to perform technology assessments, data gathering, and solution recommendations Willingness to travel up to 50% Clean, valid U.S. driver's license CISCO / SCADA EXP 3+ years supporting manufacturing, power generation, or similar industries OT (Operational Technology) security/support experience (DCS, PLCs, SCADA systems) Experience with unique industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, etc.) Ability to design staged improvements for OT/ICS systems where requirements may not be fully understood Strong cross-discipline communication for IT/OT environments Deep understanding of the OSI Model with ability to configure production systems across multiple layers (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, etc.) Experience leading gap analyses and communicating risks/responsibilities to stakeholders Lead experience - Need someone to come in with industry experience and mentor/implement best practices to the team Barracuda Firewalls Automation Skills CICD, PowerShell scripting, Terraform, AZURE Devops, etc
