Job Description:

The Academic Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing student success and engagement through academic support services, outreach initiatives, and co-curricular programming. This position is responsible for developing and implementing academic success programs, coordinating outreach and recruitment activities (i.e. Head for the Hill, TOP Orientation etc..), and fostering meaningful connections with students, faculty, and campus partners to promote retention, persistence, and graduation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

Develop and deliver workshops, seminars, and events focused on academic skills, time management, study strategies, and other topics that enhance student learning, retention, and overall success. Advise a small caseload of students.. Collaborate with faculty, advisors, and staff to identify and support students in need of academic assistance. Serve as a primary point of contact for students seeking academic resources and connect them with appropriate campus services (tutoring, advising, mentoring, etc.). Coordinate outreach initiatives, including recruitment events, information sessions, and community engagement opportunities, to increase student awareness and participation in programs. Contribute to the development of marketing and communication strategies to promote academic success and outreach initiatives. Support the mission of WKU by fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all students. Maintain data and prepare reports related to student participation, program outcomes, and retention efforts using Suitable. Requirements:

Bachelor's degree Experience working in higher education, student services, or related areas. Ability to work evenings and weekends if needed Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to plan and facilitate workshops, events, and student programs Proficiency with technology, data tracking, and program assessment tools Additional Information:
