Pay Information $1,876 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Virginia License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Med/Surg or PCU experience - BLS certification - Virginia nursing license Description: This position involves working in an inpatient rehabilitation unit with a total of 35 beds. The patient-to-nurse ratio ranges from 5 to 7 patients per nurse. The unit is staffed with techs based on patient census, usually 2 to 4 techs are available. Equipment used includes vitals machines, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, and bladder scanners. Documentation is performed using the Meditech system. Shifts are 12 hours long with a requirement to work every other weekend. The floating policy allows for shifts in other Med Surg departments as needed. Preferred experience includes prior rehabilitation nursing. The role involves medication administration, including IVs, PICC, and PEG tube administration. Other procedures performed on the unit include bladder scans, trach care, tube feeding, Foley catheter insertion, bladder irrigation, and blood administration. The dress code is navy blue or white solid scrubs. This unit offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Team members include nursing staff, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, physiatrists, physician assistants, and neuropsychologists.
