Import/Export Specialist

The Import/Export Specialist will serve as a key liaison between our Customer Service and Distribution/Logistics teams. This role will ensure seamless coordination of international shipments, documentation, and compliance for ZeptoMetrix customers around the globe. Key responsibilities include: Coordinating international shipments (inbound and outbound), ensuring compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations. Preparing and reviewing shipping documentation for accuracy and country specific compliance. Acting as a primary point of contact between the Customer Service team, Distribution/Logistics, and external freight forwarders/customs brokers and the Customer/Distributor. Monitoring international shipment status and proactively communicating updates to customers and internal teams and rectifying import concerns. Resolving import/export related issues, delays, and documentation discrepancies. Maintaining a library of Import Documentation templates. Supporting customers with order status, delivery timelines, and regulatory documentation needs. Maintaining up to date knowledge of import/export laws, including ITAR, EAR, Harmonized Codes, and customs requirements. Collaborating with Distribution/Logistics to optimize shipping processes and improve efficiency. Maintaining accurate records of international shipments in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience. Experience: 2+ years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, or international customer service. Qualifications: Knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and international shipping practices required. Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory documentation. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressure, within deadlines or other essential time constraints. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization. Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization. Compensation & Benefits: Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000, depending on location, experience, and qualifications. Benefits coverage begins day 1, including the following: Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, 401(k) company match, Paid Time Off (15 days annually), Paid Holiday time (10 company-designated days), and Tuition Assistance.
