Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of Oracle databases. This role requires expertise in database performance tuning, high availability, security, and disaster recovery. The Oracle DBA will work closely with developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to ensure database systems are optimized, secure, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain, upgrade, and administer Oracle EBS instances on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure using automation tools like Ansible, Jenkins, etc.
Optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning using RMAN and other tools.
Troubleshoot database-related issues, working closely with application and infrastructure teams.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using tools like AWR, ADDM, and SQL Tuning Advisor.
Optimize SQL queries and database indexing strategies for improved performance.
Implement partitioning, compression, and other techniques to enhance efficiency.
Implement database security policies, user access controls, and encryption techniques.
Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Configure and manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate for high availability and replication.
Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure minimal downtime.
Develop scripts using Shell, PL/SQL, or Python for automation and monitoring.
Collaborate with developers to optimize database schemas and queries.
Document database architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
2-5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Certifications such as OCP or OCM are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Ansible or Terraform for automation.
Exposure to NoSQL or other RDBMS like PostgreSQL, MySQL.
Experience with Python is a plus.
