Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Outpatient Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist to join our team. In this role, you will provide psychiatric care for outpatients, deliver consultation services to medical and surgical inpatients, and collaborate closely with our interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in understanding the psychological aspects of medical conditions, thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment, and is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities Evaluate and diagnose patients presenting with psychiatric symptoms.Provide consultation and liaison services to medical and surgical teams, assessing the psychiatric aspects of medical conditions.Build and maintain a robust outpatient continuity clinic.Conduct psychiatric assessments, including mental status exams, and develop individualized treatment plans.Manage pharmacological treatments, with special consideration for interactions between psychiatric and medical medications.Deliver short-term therapy and crisis intervention for patients with acute psychiatric symptoms.Collaborate with mental health and healthcare professionals, including psychologists, psychiatric nurses, and social workers, to ensure integrated patient care.Educate and support patients and their families in understanding and coping with psychological aspects of physical illness.Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in electronic health records, in compliance with ethical and confidentiality standards.(Optional) Teach and supervise medical students and residents in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.Board Certified or Board Eligible in PsychiatryCompletion of a psychiatric residency and fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.Previous experience in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry strongly preferred.Strong knowledge of the psychological dimensions of medical conditions.Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal communication and collaboration.Work Environment & Schedule Hospital and clinic setting.Required on-call coverage for clinic patients.One weekend per month: inpatient rounds required.Organization Information: Full Benefits to be discussed with the clientVery well-established practice with a great reputation in the areaLifestyle Information: Live in a beautiful family-oriented area on Florida's southeast coastAn abundance of stunning beaches, parks, and attractionsLive in one of Florida's most popular destinations Enjoy a laid-back lifestyle where you can be outside year-round with access to great restaurants, shops, and moreTop school district in the nationNo state income tax15 minutes from Delray Beach45 minutes from Ft.
