We are seeking a skilled Neonatal Perinatal Physician for a locum tenens assignment at a healthcare facility in Sylva, NC. This inpatient role at a Level 2 Nursery involves IP rounding and on-call duties covering newborns and NICU patients. - Provide neonatal and perinatal care in a Level 2 Nursery setting
- Perform IP rounding for an average of 3 newborns and possible up to 3 inpatients
- Address up to 7 calls while on call, with 2-4 potential call-backs
- Manage ventilation (both invasive and non-invasive), perform lumbar punctures, and central line insertions
- Board Certified in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine
- Active NC medical license
- BLS certification required
- Competence in neonatal procedures such as chest tube insertion and exchange transfusions preferred
- Day shifts with on-call responsibilities
- Rounds take approximately 2-4 hours
- Proficiency with EMR system (Paragon)
- Ability to manage acute and chronic ventilation needs
- Skilled in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including thoracentesis and paracentesis
- Experience in attending high-risk C-sections and performing neonatal resuscitation
