Job Summary
The Vice President of ASC Operations is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of a national portfolio of Ambulatory Surgical Centers. This role provides direct leadership, accountability, and performance management across all ASC sites to ensure clinical excellence, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustainable financial growth.
Operational Leadership
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Provide executive oversight and operational direction to ASC administrators and site leaders across multiple regions. Ensure consistent execution of best practices and high-performance standards at each location. Financial Management: Assume full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for all ASCs in the portfolio. Develop and manage operating budgets, monitor performance metrics, and drive financial targets including revenue growth, cost containment, and margin enhancement.
Strategic Growth & Development
Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and implement growth strategies, including de novo development, expansion of service lines, and optimization of existing centers. Clinical and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all ASCs operate in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation and licensure requirements. Partner with clinical leaders to promote a culture of safety, quality, and patient-centered care.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
Recruit, mentor, and support local ASC leadership teams. Foster a high-performing culture through effective communication, accountability, and continuous improvement. Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a liaison between corporate leadership, physician partners, investors, and local stakeholders. Develop strong relationships and ensure alignment with strategic and operational goals.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Establish and maintain dashboards and KPIs for operational and financial performance. Conduct regular reviews and drive corrective action plans as needed.
Qualifications- Education, Experience, And Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field (required) Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MSN) strongly preferred Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in ASC or surgical services operations, including multi-site management Demonstrated success in managing full P&L for complex healthcare operations Strong knowledge of ASC regulations, reimbursement models, and accreditation standards Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills Willingness to travel nationally (approximately 50%)
