Job Summary We are seeking a highly qualified Professional Track Associate or Counsel to join our Patents practice group in the Chicago, IL office. This is a full-time, non-partner, professional track attorney position. Candidates should have 5 to 10 years of patent law experience, including Patent Agent experience. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Sciences, Physics, or a related technical field is required; a Master’s or Ph.D. is a plus. Applicants must have a valid USPTO Registration number, be capable of managing a busy patent prosecution docket efficiently, and possess strong academic and professional credentials along with excellent writing and analytical skills. Law firm experience and experience in drafting and prosecuting Telecommunications-related patents (such as 3G, 4G, 5G, and Standards-related telecom technologies) are preferred. Some experience with patent litigation and Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceedings is also desirable. Candidates should have excellent academic and professional credentials, along with highly developed analytical, communication, and writing skills. Membership in the Illinois Bar or eligibility for waiver is required.
