JOB SUMMARY
The Warehouse Associate – Shipping & Receiving is responsible for performing both physical and administrative tasks related to the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and order fulfillment of merchandise, materials, parts, and supplies. This role ensures compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards while supporting efficient warehouse operations. The associate will handle hazardous materials, perform inventory management, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities Perform quality checks on outbound and inbound shipments. Conduct outbound staging and packing in accordance with site policies. Execute ERP system transactions for inbound and outbound shipments. Update FMS for parcel and freight shipments. Learn and utilize handheld RF scanners and Warehouse Management System (WMS) for order fulfillment. Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts. Handle and control hazardous materials in compliance with safety standards. Adhere to 5S, housekeeping, and regulatory safety practices. Complete required safety training and wear appropriate PPE for assigned tasks. Lift up to 75 pounds unassisted and operate material handling equipment safely. Obtain and maintain certifications for powered industrial trucks (WAV, order picker, reach truck, dock stocker, pallet jacks). Create and manage repair RMAs, resolve shipment and receiving issues within repair systems. Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to work instruction documentation. Assist with equipment evaluation and maintenance. Create expense orders for internal repair consumption. Ensure compliance with ISO requirements during external audits. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred (not required). Minimum of 1 year of warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Basic computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to use a desktop computer, perform basic math calculations, and read a ruler. Fundamental reading and writing skills. Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and working with warehouse equipment. Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with ERP systems and WMS. Knowledge of hazardous material handling and compliance standards.
Certifications
Certification on powered industrial trucks (WAV, order picker up to 35’, reach truck, dock stocker, pallet jacks).
